April 7, 2013 - GEMS Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser

Today was the GEMS chili cook-off fundraiser.  There were 23 chili entries and at least four times more people this year than last year.  It was really quite amazing!  It was nice seeing some people from work there too!

February 16, 2013 - Introducing Girls to Engineering Workshop

The GEMS took the 4th and 5th graders to the IGEW again this year.  I taught the workshop Reverse Engineering a yo-yo.  It was a light up yo-yo that had a simple circuit in it.  The kids learned about simple circuits and got to take a yo-yo apart and learn about the parts of the circuit.  They seemed to really enjoy this!  I got to see Kaylyn at lunch and during the break, and her and the girls seemed to really be enjoying their workshops which is awesome.

December 8, 2012 - GEMS in the Melbourne Parade of Lights

The GEMS girls were in the Melbourne Parade of Lights again this year!  Jason and I got to be in the parade with the girls again, and it is so fun!  I saw so many people watching the parade that we knew, it was really cool.  It did not rain this year and everything seemed to go really smooth, so we were very blessed.
