October 31, 2013 - Halloween
We love our neighborhood for trick or treating. The kids get so much candy and we give away so much candy because there are so many kids. People come park on our street and trick or treat. I love seeing all the kids dressed up! My two ninjas didn't want to wear their masks. Kaylyn is an indian princess, but with the bow and arrow, everyone thought she was Katniss from the Hunger Games!

October 31 - Halloween
Time for trick or treating around the neighborhood. Mommy sat outside handing out candy for an hour and a half while daddy took the girls around trick or treating. They got an entire bag's worth of candy each! So we gave away as much as we got back. Guess work will eventually get some candy to munch on...

Sunday, October 28 - Fall Fest at Calvary Chapel
This year Fall Fest was planned to be on Friday, October 26, but Hurricane Sandy thought otherwise of that. With sustained winds and gusts up to 50 mph with an occasional downpour, the church thought better of it and changed the date to Sunday. It was an awesome turnout! I was afraid with the short notice in date change, there wouldn't be as many people there, but I was wrong. It was a nice setup again this year. The kids choir sang three songs in the church sanctuary and did really well. Ashlyn knew the words to every song which brought tears to my eyes because I think it's the first time she's known all the words. The kids had a lot of fun and Shelby got to hang out with us as we went through the trunk or treat lines.

Saturday, October 27 - Halloween Party
Had a Halloween party with a few friends over and it was fun. Shawn & Jennifer brought their two boys, who played with the girls. There was lots of food! The costumes were cute and Tara's was my favorite. She dressed up as a zombie who was pregnant and the baby ate its way through her tummy...the best part was that the baby doll she used was a cabbage patch! Hilarious!

October 31st Halloween & November 5th Volleyball Game
Halloween is here once again and Ashlyn gets to enjoy her second time
trick or treating. She loves it as Kaylyn always has. I love to see
them laugh and be happy as they go from door to door collecting candy
from neighbors. Now that they have all this candy, we need to go
through it and pick out the candy that's no their favorite and give away
so it doesn't stay in our house and go bad.
Kaylyn had her second Volleyball game at Holy Trinity Lower School on November 5th. They lost the 1st round easily, but the 2nd round they were pretty close. I can see an improvement in Kaylyn's game. The kids need to work a little on getting more confidence and going after the ball. A lot of times the kids would just stand there and the ball would hit the ground next to them. Hopefully they will work on this at practice. Kaylyn actually hit the ball over a couple of times successfully. She's also getting closer at being able to get the ball over the net on a serve. I think this will be her 2nd best sport following swimming.
