September 3, 2013
So, the first couple of weeks of school at CCA some things happened that led us to finally start looking for a new school for the kids. God has been pushing us in this direction for awhile now and we're finally listening. So, to do what's best for our family we shadowed the kids at Community Christian School (CCS) and absolutely loved the feeling that we got from CCS. The next day we had them enrolled and started at CCS and have been loving it ever since! The kids are all on the swim team which has been amazing and Kaylyn got right on the co-ed 5th/6th grade volleyball team. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of their first day at this new school since things were so hectic.

May 3, 2013 - CCA's Talent Show
Kaylyn decided to be in the talent show again this year. She performed her Christian jokes. She knew most of them by heart, but wanted the paper up there just in case (it was also sort of her safety net so she didn't have to look at the audience the entire time). She was very dramatic with her delivery of each joke and she did very well. Everyone thought she was very funny!

Saturday April 20, 2013 - Hershey Track Meet
Kaylyn decided that she wanted to participate in the Hershey Track Meet again this year. Remember last year she placed overall 4th in the Softball throw and 6th in the 100 yard run for 9-10 year olds. This year she'll turn 11 before the end of the year, so she was grouped in the 11-12 year old. Don't think she placed this year. There was one girl in this age range that looked 14-16 years old she was so tall. It was a long day and was mostly overcast, but never poured rain which was good. We were there from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm.

April 4, 2013 - Kaylyn's Basketball Game
Kaylyn had her third basketball game yesterday. They won of course! There was this one girl on the other team that was blocking Kaylyn constantly no matter how Kaylyn tried to get away from her. Kaylyn was getting so mad and I kept trying to tell her to do it to her when she was on defense. Here's a few pictures that Jason took. The lighting was pretty bad in that gym.

March 22, 2013 - Arts in the Commons
This year during Arts in the Commons, Jason was up in Gainesville at Shand's having a sit-down meeting with his pediatric cardiologist, his replacement cardiologist, the surgeon, and the ICU nurse. They talked for over 1 1/2 hours and Jason had all of his questions answered. Unfortunately, because of our upcoming vacation and Jason's surgery, I am trying to save all of my vacation time, so I could not go to Arts in the Commons. Instead, Mamaw went to Ashlyn's portion and Wai-po went to Kaylyn's portion. They bought their artwork and Kaylyn had won 2nd place in the recycled art project for 5th grade. Mamaw provided some pictures from this event and I took a picture of Kaylyn's recycled art project. Kaylyn drew a butterfly, while Ashlyn drew a bow tie for their framed artwork that was bought.
March 21, 2013 - Grandparent's Day at CCA
Calvary Chapel Academy had their 2nd annual Grandparent's Day. This year the girls had Mamaw, Wai-po, Wai-gong, and Nana come. Wai-po took Ashlyn, while Wai-gong took Kaylyn. Nana and Mamaw split their time between the girls. I think the grandparents had a lot of fun and a lot of breakfast food! Mamaw provided pictures from her phone and so did Wai-gong.

March 16, 2013 - Kaylyn's 1st Co-Ed Basketball Game
Alright, so that was less of break than we thought for basketball seasons :-) Actually, it's a good thing because they didn't lose anything they learned. There's less people on the team, so that's good for Kaylyn because that meant she got to play more. In fact, she played 3 out of the 4 quarters! It was awesome. She almost made a shot and she rebounded a few times and got the ball back.
March 15, 2013 - Holy Land Field Trip
Kaylyn's 5th grade class got to take a field trip to Holy Land. Luckily this fell on our off Friday, so Jason got to go with them. I had to make up time from work, I had a doctor's appt, Ashlyn had a doctor's appt, and Ashlyn had her LearningRx session, so I got to stay behind. Kaylyn seemed to enjoy this field trip, but I think it was more because of her hanging out with her friends. Jason did not like Holy Land and said we would not be going back. They even had to miss the best show, The Passion, because it wasn't on until 4:00 pm. They even had to carry their lunches around because they could not bring the cooler in. When they got there, the people had no record of them paying and it took like 15-20 minutes to clear everything up.
Later on that evening, we went to see Oz the Great and Powerful movie. We met my friend Tara there and enjoyed the movie. It was kind of funny and also kind of scary for kids. It was alright.
