April 14-15, 2011 Jennifer's Surgery

Well, I guess I can finally say...my turn, my turn. Now I feel a little bit of what Ashlyn has had to go through. Yesterday I got to endure about an hour's worth of surgery. I had lots of stuff done to my nose (I think there was like 10 things listed), but mostly a deviated septum, scraping of the inside of one nostril (the wall was severely thickened), some wall lifted in my sinus, and everything cleaned (roto-router) out. To top it off, I had my tonsils taken out. I just hope this will make it to where I'm not as sick anymore. I'm tired of having sinus infections that lead into bronchitis, etc...

Overall, I'm not doing too bad for the 2nd day. They say the 2nd day is suppose to be worse, but I think I actually feel better today than I did yesterday. Hope I'm not jinxing it, but I owe it all to God...I prayed hard to not feel all the pain I was told I was going to feel. Kaylyn and Ashlyn were so sweet when they got home yesterday and saw me. Ashlyn actually started to cry when she had to leave for speech therapy and I had to assure her that I was alright. I've been staying on top of taking my pain meds every 4 hours like it says, even throughout the night. I think this has helped a lot too!

Here's me right before they took me back...see how happy I am!

Here I am the day after, not looking as happy as yesterday, right before the surgery, but not looking so bad ;-)

  2. Holy cats, girl! I thought I heard you say something about surgery as you were walking out Wednesday or Thursday.

I've wondered if my nose needed work, as I often have a hard time breathing through it day or night. I really don't want any more surgery on that, though. (I had my tonsils & adenoids taken out when I was 8, which would've been 1970-ish.

Relax, do what the doctors instruct, and we'll be praying for you.
