October 5, 2013 - 2nd Swim Meet

We had our second swim meet today in Cocoa.  It was super hot and super long.  It started with us picking Kaylyn up from her lock-in at the school at 7:00 am.  Apparently they did not get to bed until 4:00 am and she hadn't had her medicine yet.  I gave her medicine to her and packed up all her stuff and we headed off to the meet.  We had to be there at 7:45 to setup the tent for the kids.  We let Kaylyn eat before the meet even though it hadn't been quite an hour since she had taken her medicine.  Given that she only had three hours of sleep, she did pretty well at the meet.  Ashlyn did awesome except with her back stroke.  Her goggles started leaking and she kept trying to fix them as she was swimming. Her breaststroke however was awesome!  She kept up with most of the kids and almost tied with three other kids at the end.  She beat her last time by more than 25 seconds!  Jesse did good at this meet also.  He got a few second places again!  After the meet with went to lunch at Coconuts on the Beach with Annie and Allison and their parents.

September 21, 2013 - 1st Swim Meet

CCS had their first swim meet today.  Whenever Ashlyn was swimming, Mrs. Pickard and Lynette would cheer her on even though she is not swimming for CCA.  It was so awesome.  She has come so far with her swimming and is improving slightly on her times.  Jesse did really well too for swimming for his first season!  He got a few second places even.  Kaylyn missed this first meet since she was playing a volleyball game.  This was the only volleyball game that interfered with the swim meets for the season.

November 10, 2012 - Championship Swim Meet

We did it...we finished the swim season!  Because of Hurricane Sandy, the championship swim meet got pushed from October 27th to November 10th.  The weather was more chilly, but luckily the pool was heated.  The kids only froze when they got out of the water.  They didn't have any practice over the last two weeks, so Kaylyn was a little rusty, but still pretty fast.

Saturday July 28, 2012 - Last Swim Meet for the Summer

The girls had their last swim meet today at the Palm Bay Aquatic Center.  It was hot!  Jason was on his way back from California, so he did not get to be here, so I took pictures!  The girls did well and Ashlyn actually got a better time than one other child in the breast stroke...amazing!
