So Kaylyn had her first summer swim meet this past Saturday. She competed in 5 swims...individual butterfly, medley relay (where she did the backstroke), individual breaststroke, individual freestyle, medley relay (where she swam the freestyle). She did so awesome!
She placed:
4th in the butterfly
2nd in the relay medley (because the kid she tagged off to didn't know what to do next, so he sat there for about 3-5 seconds before he started swimming)
1st in the breaststroke
1st in the freestyle
1st in the last relay medley
She's still 8 years old, but in practice they had to move her up to the 9/10/11 year olds because she was lapping the 7/8 year olds. I really think this will be her main sport because she's so good at it and she loves doing it. I'm so proud of her! I didn't take my camera, but will for the next swim meet.
Go Kaylyn!!! I'm sure those long limbs help with her swimming. Her Aunt Kara and Uncle Chris will have to teach her how to use those long limbs for volleyball too :-D.
